Technology Assessment for Book/Music
Wholesaler/Retailer. Designed a cost-effective architecture that 1) includes
data exchange between three different platforms (Unidata/SQL Server/Microsoft
Office Suite) to eliminate duplicate entry (see Product Marketing System), 2)
combines product marketing data w/ real-time real-time inventory data (Unidata)
to feed wholesale and retail e-commerce sites (SQL Server), 3) meets unique
business needs of a retail and wholesale and store business. Because of the
new marketing system the client increased direct mail catalog production from
12 to 14 catalogs a year; sales agents doubled their production; data entry
decreased 40%. System paid for itself with 24 months.
Collaborative Financial Data Consolidation and Analysis
System for consortium of investors and trade associations in the community
development sector. System imports, validates and structures industry data to
support “flat table” and multidimensional analysis. System includes pivot
tables and charts for flexible filter, “drill through” and reporting needs.
Technology/Business Processing Assessment for non-profit
organization with national events. Modifying business procedures and
existing Donor Management System improved event / donation processing
efficiencies fivefold.
Music Broadcast Analysis System for entrepreneur for new
business opportunity in overseas market. Created business feasibility
studies, technology architecture design; created marketing materials, managed
business startup.
Technology Assessment for RIAA to study data requirements
for different music licensing strategies available to the music industry in
the 1990’s. Findings lead to the development of a national sound recording
database and industry-wide database standards.
Information Systems Design and Support for various
non-profits/ associations. Assessed current information management resources
against needs; facilitated strategic planning w/ management to develop optimum
systems. Implemented Contact Manager system; trained staff; provided on-going
maintenance for system and consulting services to management. (See client
list of non-profits/ foundations/ associations for clients)
Software Solutions
Product Marketing System Project Manager for Book/Music
Wholesaler. Access 2000 front-end includes real-time data exchange with
Unidata Inventory Management System and SQL Server 2000.
Collaborative Financial Database System for consortium of
investors and trade associations in the community development sector. Member
of small team tasked with creating a data bank of financial data consolidated
from industry surveys. Solution based on Microsoft Office 2002 architecture,
mostly Access and Excel VBA.
Client Services System for non-profit Health Care
Provider matches health care clients with support volunteers and teams.
